Biomolecular Frontiers Research Centre
The Biomolecular Frontiers Research team is a multidisciplinary network of researchers undertaking world-class research in the fields of proteomics, glycomics and genomics.
- Our mission is the molecular analysis of biological systems.
- Our vision is to develop, improve and apply biomolecular analysis to increase the understanding of living systems.
The Centre is embedded within the Department of Chemistry and Biomolecular Sciences, Faculty of Science, at Macquarie University. We interact closely with the Australian Proteome Analysis Facility (APAF), which offers state-of-the-art research infrastructure and services.
The Centre is consistently successful in gaining high-level funding to foster innovation, and for our projects to flourish. Much of our funding comes from external bodies such as the Australian Research Council and the National Health and Medical Research Council.
Research topics cover a wide range in the fields of biotechnology, medical research, molecular analysis, medical devices, microbial genomics and agriscience.
Through our links with APAF and the Environmental Biotechnology Cooperative Research Centre at Macquarie University, we offer top-level expertise and facilities.
